Tucked away deep in the forest at the foot of the Raven Rapid in the Råne River valley is Arctic Retreat. This is a hidden gem in Swedish Lapland that offers you a personal and exclusive stay.

This eco-lodge has a back to nature feeling with delicious home cuisine and warm hospitality in a beautiful river side setting. Sheltered by large trees, the traditional and luxuriously decorated log timber cabins offer an escape to another world.

Owned by a local family, Arctic Retreat was the inspiration of Liza and Niklas. They are your hosts and along with their local friends they will ensure you have a warm and genuine experience. Their focus is on a high level of personal service through out your stay. Regardless of the days adventures, a warm dip in your private hot tub and/or a Swedish Sauna and a wholesome 3 course dinner await you in the evening. All meals are provided and are according to a set menu, with options to meet dietary needs, for each day based on seasonal availability.

The experience is genuine in all aspects – from materials used, food served, to the local people working on site. A stay at Arctic Retreat is one that suits families and couples as well as private groups. The cabins can be booked individually or the whole retreat for exclusive private stays.

Arctic Retreat is your perfect winter getaway. In the winter, our snowy climate enables us to enjoy fantastic winter activities and, as we are located in an isolated location, this is a fantastic place for viewing the northern lights. There is a wide range of optional winter adventures with professional local guides. Depending on your mood these can be as peaceful as a massage session or as exhilarating as dog-sledding through the nearby forest. You are most welcome to enjoy the arctic winter lifestyle with us at Arctic Retreat.

Log Cabin: 1-Sun, 2-Wind, 3-Water

• Newly built log timber cabins at the edge of the river
• Floor to ceiling windows facing north for aurora watching
• Private outdoor jacuzzi next to each cabins deck
• Bathroom with toilet and shower in each cabin
• Wood fired sauna in a separate building
• Kettle, Coffee machine, Fireplace and firewood

Cabin 1 Sun :

• 1 loft bed room with double bed. Capacity 2 people plus option to add a single bed if required.

Cabin 2 Wind:

• 1 loft bedroom with double bed. Bed space downstairs with 2 bunk beds. Capacity 4 people plus option to add a single bed if required.

Cabin 3 Water:

• Single floor with double bed room. Capacity 2 people plus option to add a single bed in the lounge and/or in a small loft if required.

Timber Cutters Cabin (available during private exclusive bookings only)

• Older log timber cabin renovated to a cosy Swedish style. Loft bedroom with double bed and 2 single beds. Capacity 4 people.
• Panoramic windows facing the river
• Bathroom with toilet and shower in the cabin
• Wood fired sauna in a separate building
• Kettle, Fireplace and firewood

Stay in a log cabin
